What is a Jasper Stone?
Jasper is a semiprecious stone that belongs to the Chalcedony family, just like Agate. Jasper is opaque and comes in various colors but typically in dark reds, browns, and dark greens. It is often cut into cabochons or engraved, used in both jewelry making and ornamentation. Red jasper is highly valued for its non-aggressive color.
