What is Reconstituted Turquoise?
Reconstituted turquoise is a fine stone (formerly known as "semi-precious stone"). Since turquoises of a beautiful blue and absolutely perfect, meaning without matrix (black lines) - are extremely rare and expensive, it may be preferable to use reconstituted turquoise. Reconstituted turquoise is composed of pieces or powder of real turquoise mixed with silica and resin, this technique stabilizes and solidifies the material, making it more durable and less porous than natural turquoise. It has a hardness ranging from 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.
