What is a Sodalite Stone?
Sodalite is a semiprecious stone with an intense bluish-purple color, often showing fine white veins of calcite. It can be part of lapis lazuli but has a much more violet hue. The main deposits are found in Brazil, Canada, and the United States, where it is widely used in jewelry for its intense color. It has a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.
