Citrine: History, Origin, Composition, Virtues, Significance and Recharging of the stone
Citrine is a fine stone belonging to the Quartz family. It is an extremely virtuous stone. In lithotherapy, Citrine is known as an abundant, positive stone, synonymous with success.
History of Citrine stone
The stone Citrine comes from its Latin etymology "citrus", which obviously means "lemon" in reference to its color. Discovered in Antiquity, the ancient Roman empires used Citrine stone as a good-luck charm to ward off evil spirits, as well as to protect against reptiles such as snakes and lizards. The Romans also created pendants from the stone.
The Egyptians, on the other hand, used it for its symbolic representation of success.
By the 1800s, Citrine was being used to decorate objects such as combs and luxury items such as tiaras.
Amethyst stones heated to over 500°C can turn lemon-yellow; this is also known as heated citrine.

Citrine stone origin and composition
Natural stone Citrine is a mineral belonging to the Quartz family. It is composed of iron oxide and silicon dioxide, with the formula (SiO2) and a specific gravity of 2.65.
It forms in pegmatitic, magmatic and hydrothermal rocks. Citrine's natural color is light yellow due to the presence of iron oxide. To distinguish genuine citrine from a fake (e.g., heated citrine), you can tell by its honey-yellow to amber color.
